The New York State Department of Environmental Conservatio
n (NYSDEC) regulates the clean-up of and remediation of hazardous materials and wastes that have been identified in containers, vessels or soils.
On-site hazmat remediation may include temporary removal of the hazardous waste, construction of a secure landfill on the same site, and proper replacement of the waste. It may also include treatment of any contaminated soil or groundwater.
