UNYSE’s Contracting Services
Serving Western New York
When a hazardous substance has been detected in your building or facility, you may require abatement, mitigation or remediation services. UNYSE offers lead, asbestos, mold, and other hazardous material removal services to those in Western New York.
With a network of experienced and qualified contractors, we aim to complete our remediation services quickly, quietly and up to regulatory standards. This makes us the most reliable team in WNY.
Asbestos Abatement
Asbestos remediation is required whenever asbestos-containing material (ACM) is impacted during renovation, demolition, or other such activities.
The EPA, OSHA, and NYSDOL have stringent requirements for asbestos abatement based on the dangers that ACM poses. A restricted work area containment is always required and specialized engineering controls and clean-up must be used to meet clearance criteria. Most projects must be monitored by an independent firm such as UNYSE.
Mold Abatement
Once a mold remediation plan is completed, mold abatement is required. THE NYSDOL specifies that the plan must include work area preparation, personal protection, remediation methods and post-remediation assessments.
Our team is able to create a mold remediation plan as well as work with a certified contractor to complete the work.
Lead Abatement
Required when a child has been diagnosed with an elevated blood level (EBL) or when Federal Housing Assistance exceeds specific amounts, lead abatement works to permanently eliminate lead-based paint or other lead hazards.
All lead hazard control must be accompanied by work area containment, controls and specialized clean-up followed by a thorough clearance examination by UNYSE.
Hazardous Material Abatement
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) regulates the clean-up and remediation of hazardous materials and wastes identified in containers, vessels, soil or liquids.
On-site hazmat remediation may include temporary removal of the hazardous waste, construction of a secure landfill on the same site, and proper replacement of the waste. It may also include treatment of any contaminated soil or groundwater. UNYSE prepares health and safety plans (HASP) that OSHA-certified contractors use to complete remediation to meet DEC criteria with the client's best interests in mind.
