UNYSE provides ongoing asbestos and other hazardous materials investigation, project design and monitoring services for conversion of several large former steel manufacturing facilities. UNYSE provides:
- Asbestos containing material & lead-based paint surveys
- Abatement project design, including obtaining variances from NYSDOL
- Air sampling & project monitoring services
- Technical support to the building operators
These buildings are located in the former Bethlehem Steel property in Lackawanna, NY and were in very poor condition. The property owners sought assistance to convert the buildings into storage for a commodity used in their manufacturing process. UNYSE was tasked with determining the presence and location of ACM and assisting the owners to complete abatement of identified hazardous materials.
